believes that radon mitigation can be treated as part of general well being, irrespective of the legal obligations.
In this respect we offer solutions that – at the same time – mitigate the radon risk and improve the overall quality of indoor air.
THERE IS A NEW LAW
Since January 2018 the EU Directive 2013/59/Euratom entered into force in all European countries and in Switzerland. The legal limits for indoor radon concentration dropped by a factor of 3, from 1000 Bq/m3 to 300 Bq/m3 for home owners, public buildings, schools and workplaces.
THERE IS MORE
While there is a legal obligation to take action if the reference/action levels are exceeded, the spirit of the law is the reduction of the dose from radon to the lowest reasonable level, as it is also common practice in radiation protection. In fact, the risk of lung cancer is proportional to the dose: half the dose means half the risk for any concentration. Given the appropriate tools, as our product that at the same time conveniently improves many aspects of indoor air quality, radon mitigation can be treated as part of general well being (at home, in schools, in the workplace), irrespective of the legal obligation.
