Innovative Research in the Nuclear Field and Radiation Detection

A smarter dosimetry system and mitigation technology

We dedicates many resources to research and development. One of our R&D project is an innovative system to measure, assess and mitigate the effective dose due to airborne radioactive particulate matter.

The system works in most situations in which radioactive particulate gets dispersed in the environment, in particular workplaces. Example are the stone cutting industry, metal cutting as part of decommissioning of nuclear power plants, and radon mitigation.

The figure shows the glove box where we dispersed radiative particulate matter to run the first tests. Now this facility is undergoing a huge upgrade, with the support of Hepia and Innosuisse.

We work in symbiosis with leading institutions and research centers

This research project is supported by Innosuisse, in partnership with HEPIA – Geneva School of Landscape, Engineering and Architecture, in a type B nuclear physics laboratory, also using CERN technology. And with our expertise.

Innosuisse is the Swiss Innovation Promotion Agency. It is a federal entity under public law with a separate legal personality. Innosuisse’s role is to promote science-based innovation in the interests of industry and society in Switzerland.

We are proud of this achievement and of having established deep connections with important institutions.
